Thanks Bogdan, New Zealand, particulary South Island is spectacular. We love the mountain tracks. On this occasion the track was blocked, so we had to fly over the lake in a helicopter. Short ride, but fun.

Thanks Bedri, liked your photos too. Arnetra (Australia)

Great sunset photo, Bedri / Turkey

Cooking dinner at Mintaro Hut.

Photo of snow covered Mackinnon Pass from Mintaro Hut, taken the night before the climb on the 29th October 2008.

First Freedom Walkers for the 2008/09 season disembark from the launch cruise over Lake Te Anau to Glade House Wharf on Tuesday 28th October 2008. This is the beginning of the 54 kilometer "finest walk in the world". It rained all day, and the next but it still is superb wet or dry or even snow the next day.

Heavy snow fall today covered the Mackinnons Pass and made Pass Hut a most welcome shelter and opportunity to take a short rest before the steep decent to Dumpling Hut. Photo taken 30th Oct 2008.

We arrived at the top of Mackinnons Pass in the middle of heavy snow fall on the 30th October 2008. This was the view from the loo that day. Not the best day to need an outside loo.

At the 15 mile or 24 kilometer mark overlooking view of Mintaro Lake. Not the best place to break your leg, but had lots of help from fellow walkers and a great Helicopter ride by the rescue team. Ps always be prepared for those events that 'never' happen. My walk was shortened, but was still great. Back in 2010 to complete the walk.

My two son's Adrian and Jordan make it to the top of McKinnons Pass in difficult conditions. They were amongst the first group of Freedom Walkers when the track opened on Oct 28th 2008.
