In the 1950's the area behind the trees was covered in bush and supported quail. We called it BB's Bush as it was owned by B B Jones a very special man, Land Agent and developer who lived around the corner near the "Big Tree".
A memorial to the landing of Captain Arthur Wakefield and the early settlers. In the 1950's we could stand on the bench seat underneath and climb into the tree - it's 3 - 4 metres from the seat to lower branches now.

Mainly unchanged since I grew up in the area in the 1950's. Camera perspective "flattens" the hill somewhat.
