Thank you so much John for your kind comments on this photo and for the YLS. They are greatly appreciated.

It's almost impossible to take a BAD photo in this area. There are so many picturesque vistas.

Best wishes, Mike

Thank you John for your nice comment and Like.

Greetings, Mike

Hi Nick, Tiffany, Amelia, Alan, and Joao Paulo,

Thank you all so much for your visit, nice comments, and awards on this picture. I am really honoured! More importantly, I think it is a memory for all concerned in the mission, not only the aircrews, but the engineers and planners behind it. A visit to the dam would not be complete without pausing for a moment and listening to the sound of those engines forever engraved in the stonework.

Best Wishes Peter

You are so cute guys :) Woof-woof (greetings)

Hi Amelia and Doug,

A very big thank you to both of you for your kind words and awards. I know Steve is very much involved with the memory of this famous mission. When I walked across the dam I did wonder what it must have been like on that moonlit night to have a whole squadron of these descend, and unleash a weapon the like of which had never been seen before...

Best Wishes Peter

Hello,

Thank you for asking.

I see no problem with you using this image.

Best Wishes Peter

Thank you very much Tiffany,

Your visit and awards are very much appreciated! I am happy you enjoyed it.

Best Wishes Peter

Hi Nick,

Thank you for your keen observation here. There are some old photos in existence which clearly show the enormous headlamp is genuine. I suppose thinking back to those days of no streetlights, and the practicality of ensuring that nobody had obstructed the tracks by leaving a crossing bridge down (think about it..!!) a large lamp would have been essential.

Best Wishes Peter
