Dear forglen I am doing family research and find that I am related to the Goodes. Pearl was my 3rd cousin twice removed. Ultimately it appears we are both descended from convict Rachel Hoddy who has received a lot of publicity because of her enterprising and resilient life and the fact that she was transported to Australia on the so-called 'floating brothel' actually the Lady Juliana, part of the second fleet. I was excited to find pictures of Pearl and other relatives amongst this collection and wondered if you would mind me saving copies as part of my family tree? Of course it is easy to find pictures of David Drummond but less so to find pictures of others. I am very happy to share any research. Regards Jan Pittard
Jamie, this photo is taken in the front garden of the New England Flats, originally the old Pilot House, that Fah (DHD)owned. It is almost certainly DHD holding you.
Grant Taylor, a real heart throb, played Fred Ward. He had a long and succesful career in Australian film, TV. The next lead, his side-kick, was played by Bub Tingwell.
In terms of family connections, Prof was foreman of the jury, Kay appeared in a hold up, and Taylor rode Fah's horse!
Sorry for the slow response, SP. Dad had a Phd from Manchester. The next level up is doctor of letters or of economics. This is awarded not for a thesis but on the quality of published work.
The title emeritus professor came separately and a little earlier. I think that you are probably right about Zelman.
