I do not know the meaning of the names "Lougares" or "Santa Baia do Mato", but probably has something to do with water flowing. In all of these parts of Galicia, water flows so profuse and continuous by the sides of these winding roads that paths have to be made so the water can pass from one margin of the road to the other and back again a few meters ahead. Still the water remains fresh and clear all through its path. To me, Galicia is the "Country of Waters".
