Many thanks for your comment Pedro#. My wife and I live in the Edale Valley, about 5 miles from Lafarge's Hope Works, so we see this 'blot on the landscape quite often. But to compensate, the High Peak area enjoys superb views, so I'm prerpared to 'grin and bear' Lafarge.
S'il vous plaît peut-on avoir plus de photos de Denis de la Garenne affiché sur Panoramio. Comme ses photographies superbes nous rappeler de cette belle région de France.

A stark gable-end wall has been expertly painted by an artist to give colour and life to this street in Bedarieux. The huge painting, covering the entire wall of the property, depicts a house and shop typical of the architecture of this part of the town, which is close to the open air market - held every Monday morning. Many visitors have to look twice before they realise that their eyes have been deceiving them.
Many thanks Piero. The past four weeks of snow, mostly accompanied by cold weather with clear blue skies, has given me lots of opportunities to take photographs of the snow-covered hills and mountains surrounding our house.
Many thanks for your comments. We've had lots more snow since I took this photograph of the village (3K from our house). I've taken a number of photographs from the same vantage point - but each time the light has been too close to the ‘red end’ of the spectrum, and the scene looked too 'warm', despite the fact that the snow was deeper. Easily fixed with Photoshop, but the original photo did seem to capture the scene as I viewed it at the time: -8C at 1000. My wife and I have just returned from a walk up Peak Dale, near Peveril Castle (above Castleton – I wonder if you know the area?) and most of the time we had to wade through fine powdery snow above our knees. We only saw two other walkers. Normally Peak Dale is visited by hundreds of walkers/tourists each day. It was so cold (with the wind chill factor I suppose) that I had to keep changing my camera batteries, restoring the charge by always keeping one battery warm in my trouser pocket. This will teach me to fully charge up my camera batteries before I venture out in cold weather!
Chers Ruidavid, Beaucoup d'excuses. Je n'avais pas réalisé que j'avais mal orthographié le nom du Mas. En revanche, je pensais que vous étiez en contestant la position de le Mas que j'avais indiqué sur la carte. Je vais corriger l'erreur aujourd'hui.
Cordialement
Ian
Many apologies. I hadn’t realised that I had incorrectly spelled the name of the Mas. Instead I had thought that you were disputing the location of the Mas that I had shown on the map. I shall correct the error today.
