Yup, right now like I said there is a Conrail Shared Assets freight line using the Long Dock Tunnel adjacent to the arches. As the for the arches hopefully a rail-trail would utilise the area if not it maybe a future highway access for the Holland Tunnel, I would be against the highway they say it would help with traffic how could it when all lanes merge into the Holland Tunnel anyway. The Holland only has two tubes not like the Lincoln which has three tubes. Railroads today could no longer really use the area no more depot or terminal on the Hudson waterfront just office buildings so a trail would be the use helping to also preserve the old right of way.
