The 1017 Leeds to Glasgow on 12th August 1967, the relief to the 1025 "service" train, and running on summer Saturdays only. The train stopped running two weeks later, and this brought to an end the regular use of these Jubilee class engines on passenger work. I had just turned 15 when I took this shot, and it was one of my better ones from the time! If anybody is interested, there is a short video of mine on Youtube of one of these engines, 45690 Leander, taking the Lickey incline unassisted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZS5Udg4jkk

Was scheduled to stop for half an hour but only at the last minute did the milk tanker full of water arrive. Seemed strange to me why this place was chosen when Hellifield is so close by.

The intended site for this loco shot was found to be in thick mist so another site had to be found quickly. It involved a five mile drive and the hope that it would be running late.
