I remember this place! Back in 1965 my father was contracted to run a drilling rig in the North Sea and our family lived in a house in Stavanger for two years. When we first arrived we stayed at the nearby Viste Hotel until finding a house. An old soldier enjoyed wagging his hands at us to show us little boys his missing fingers, lost in battle. He took us on a little hike to this gun emplacement. If it is the one I remember, it also has an underground bunker with the entrance just behind it - to the bottom left of the picture. I imagine that the authorities have filled it in or destroyed it by now - for safety reasons. I remember many such places and usually covered with bullet holes. We would even play in an old machine gun nest (checkpoint?) on the roadside between our house and the fjord. I would very much like to return to Stavanger one day and spend time looking around! :)

I like this one, too!. Best wishes, Clive
Hardly old stepping stones, but a much younger treshold to secure minimum water level.
Beautiful view, well captured! Greetings from Amsterdam.
Lovely :))
We sat here last Sunday out of the fierce wind Olav, when we walked from Viste towards Tungenes . I love these little Norwegian lighthouses :))
