gvanbaal's conversations

Old grist mill in the middle of Alexandria. The front of it was turned into a restaurant. A very large building for a grist mill, since the power that was produced was very low (under 10hp) and that only for a short period of time in the year.

This is the old Grant cemetery in the middle of the Larose Forest in between Limoges and Bourget

Gvanbaal was trespassing when he took this picture, we can see the corner of the roof of the power station on the bottom right corner in grey. Pictures are nice to be taken, but not so much when you do not respect signs and others in place for your safety.

What you are yes rapids, but more important, the tailrace of the old power station (where the water was exiting the turbines) all dug by hand.

Concrete in 1909-1911 was not well reinforced, since they were preparing for the first world war. This picture shows where the small single runner Francis turbine runner was installed (she was 100hp and used to excite the bigger 500hp unit beside on the far right.

Old Coupal dam built in 1909-1911. (over 8ft in width as been taken down by the water and ice)

The picture above is the power house and part of the power canal (the left wall of the canal fell)

Très bien potographier
