My wife says Schultz's was the restaurant/hot dog stand, and we got the red hots at Croghan's meat market. We tended to buy 10 lbs (about 4.5 Kg) at a time, and freeze them.
I don't think they were as good frozen, but they were way better than anything we can get locally today.
