Nieuwendam is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The tomato soup at the Cafe 't Sluisje is the best in the world and is served by angels. I would recommend a visit anytime you venture to Amsterdam. Take Ferry Four from behind the train station and ride north following signs to Schellingwoude and you will come to Nieuwendam.
