Your 'Wacky House' is actually one of the many beautifully restored Victorian buildings here in Eureka and is known locally as the 'Pink Lady'. She (all of our 'Vickies' are referred to as 'she'!) has appeared in several local and national publications, including National Geographic.
For any visitor interested in our historic architecture, pick up a copy of the excellent book, "Eureka, an Architectural View", which lists all of the Victorians as well as other historically significant buildings. There are also several other books out but this one was done by the Eureka Historical Society and is the most complete.
Be sure to stop in at Ferndale (approx. 12 miles south on Hwy 101) as the entire main street is definitely a step into the late 1800s!
