I am a medical research scientist who has lived in 4 countries. Of Chinese origin, I was born in South Africa, and after graduating with a PhD, I moved to Maryland in the USA where I lived for 4 years. I then immigrated to Brisbane, Australia where I lived for 10 years after which I relocated to Edinburgh, Scotland in 2001. After 8 years, I moved back to Brisbane. Using these cities as a base, it has allowed me to travel and explore extensively the cultures of Southern Africa, the Far East, Western Europe, the US, Middle East and Australasia. I am currently located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where I'll be based for at least 3 years and hope to explore the Middle East in depth.

Hi Andrew, thanks! Good to hear from you. So where have you been to see Baobab trees? I took these in Nov last year in the Okavango swamps. I completed my 8yr stay in Edinburgh at the end of Aug last year then went back to one of my homes in South Africa to spend time with my mom for 2 months. During that time I did a 2 week safari through Namibia, Botswana and Zambia, which was fantastic. I also did a scuba dice off the coast of South Africa watching sharks feeding (we weren't in cages either). Then I returned to my home in Australia where I'm living now. No more travelling for a while!

PS do you have a Facebook account? Maybe we can connect that way as well.

These are White Rhino or wide mouthed -suitable for grazing. Black Rhinos are browsers and have a narrow mouth with a pointed top lip which is used to grab branches and leaves,

I think, this picture is made in St Mére Église. The name of the Paratrooper is John Steel.

Hi, I apologise if I led you up the garden path. I took this picture over 20 yrs ago when I was living in Frederick. i couldn't remember the area where I took this pic so I Googled the closest proximity where I thought the bridge might be.
