this statue is deadicateted to the people of birmingham who lost there lifes in the ww2 in the home guard and the fire bragade hence the nozzle on the gun.

I just about remember a horse-drawn barge carrying coal here; it was probably the last horse to be seen there! A beautiful animal.

hi peter Walcot lakes i used to love it there all the lads from the fishing club i was in used to spend the week leading up to the start of the fishing season there.We used to camp at the pub at the top of the lane and fish the pools at the back of clive of india house(there was no close season on them becase they came under welsh water).Bretby pools no i never fished it but i went there once as a BAA bayliff to check lincenses but never did fish it.
