1963--1966年，我与同学多次登临鲤山，那时鲤山一片荒凉，显得阴森可怖（传说中这里“多鬼”）。鲤山塔因为年久失修，早被风雨削去一大截，只剩下七、八层了，塔顶长满了杂草灌木，有时“八哥”成群，绕塔鼓噪。据说，曾有胆大小儿登塔抓八哥，不幸丧命。我们也曾试探着进入塔内，沿内设台阶，拾级而上。爬上五层后便觉胆颤心寒，因为那螺旋式台阶破损厉害，太陡了。
