Hi, My name is Liz and I'm new to Panoramio. Some people say I take way tooo many photos of nothing (i.e. Scenery). I am snap happy! On a 2 week holiday I usually take over 1000 photos. So you may see some of them posted here and that way they can be seen and hopefully some of them can be uploaded to the Google Earth DB. Enjoy viewing the places I have been and feel free to comment. Casa Batlló is one of the great buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi.

From the outside the facade of Casa Batlló looks like it has been made from skulls and bones. The "Skulls" are in fact balconies and the "bones" are supporting pillars.

Gaudi used colours and shapes found in marine life as inspiration for his creativity in this building e.g. the colors chosen for the façade are those found in natural coral. The building was designed by Gaudi for Josep Batlló, a wealthy aristocrat, as an upmarket home. Señor Batlló lived in the lower two floors with his family and the upper floors were rented out as apartments.

Took in 2005 bus tour - docked in Barcelona. Legend of the Seas.

Antoni Plàcid Guillem Gaudí (25 June 1852 – 10 June 1926) – sometimes referred to by the Spanish translation of his name, Antonio Gaudí – was a Spanish, Catalan architect, who belonged to the Modernism (Art Nouveau) movement and was famous for his unique style and highly individualistic designs.

This reminds me of School trips to Rosemarkie. I grew up in Alness, moved away 16 years ago.

Thanx for posting

Took this from the Naigator of the seas 4th deck, Crossing from Florence to Cagliari. I have never seen the sea this calm on a ship. Especially the size of Navigator (biggest ship I've been on (so far!). The sea was like liquid silk and Navigator hardly made a ripple.
