There's no cathedral in Caen because bishopric is in Bayeux which is a small town near Caen (30 km west) and was the first liberated french town in 1944. This cult place, St Etienne, is an abbey built by William the Conqueror because of his wedding with his cousin Mathild. The building at the left of the picture is currently the City Hall of Caen.
