Vimoutiers "Tiger" tank was on the 7th German Army at the Battle of Normandy, 21 August 1944. "Tiger" tank was rebuilt and a historic monument in 1975.
6string is correct. This Lockheed Hudson was in use with the RAF. It crashed about 4km to the West of Kornwerderzan, killing 4 crew (RAF)and 4 agents (Dutch)
Well, that's not going to be easy I'm afraid.
The thing I usually did was drive to a village near the places I wanted to visit and check with the local Tourist office and let them find me a place to stay. Most of the time they would come up with something like Bed And Breakfast place. Or I rented a mobile home at a campsite. Depending on the number of people you are going, you could also try to rent a home for a week or try campng with a tent. Normandy has lots of campsites an B&B places. But it will not be easy to find a spot at this time. Most places are fully booked probably.
Good luck anyway.
At this museum you can get a ride on either a German or American Halftrack. Included in the trip is an explanation by the tourguide about the events that took place at that very location during the opening hours of the Von Rundstedt Offensive in december 1944.
