Bonjour et bienvenue dans ma galerie en attendant, peut-être, le grand voyage austral. Merci pour le commentaire. Sincèrement.
Hi, Murphy, you're welcome ! Could you believe I saw once another aurora like a red wheel of chuckwagon just upon my head in the middle of the sky at night ? And it seemed slowly turning while sending beams in all directions ! (May be you know the speech the Nexus 6 Roy Batty told to Deckard at the end of "Blade Runner" ?). It lasted a short time, too short to get my camera and take a picture but what a feeling to be there and watch this ! So long.
Cher Pacha, merci. Vous êtes bienvenu à Kerguelen pour le ski nautique mais même habitué au climat continental, un néoprène épais est plutôt conseillé !;>).
With the courtesy of the Kerguelen Cormorant !
Dear Mijodrag, time passed enough now after your compliment to add a comment. The white spot in the middle of the picture is the bus boat which brought us along the main bay of the island and back to Port-au-Français, our umbilical cord (imagine our feeling when seeing her from nowhere or suddenly hearing her puff-puf before she came to pick us on a desert coast!). What you may be can't catch from the picture is in spite of the strong wind blowing the smell of the rocky ground, the same as gun powder.
Hello Dear Mimis08, you're welcome and this is a good question. May be we should ask Mr Dylan Bob when he sings "the answer is in the wind" ? In fact, there is a lot of wind around these islands. As I try to remember what is the message to catch among the sounds and noises filling ears southern in the Roaring Forties, I think it's "simply" : "Live !". Remember also, with your permission - this is not an order ! -, the famous "carpe diem", "imagine there's no heaven...". Yes, may be this friend with furr and tears is reciting "O Captain ! My Captain !"... Sincerely.
Very nice photo. YsL . Friendly greetings from Serbia-Belgrade , Mijodrag
