I believe that now is the time for the emergence of all of us, we the people, one mankind who have chosen to acknowledge that we are in trouble and that our only solution is EACH OTHER AND THE EARTH. Pulling together we have a chance.
Our aim is to create EDIBLE FOREST FOOD GARDENS throughout the land, beginning here where we live in the back hollers of the N Georgia mountains. A forest food garden is planted mimicing the natural system of the forest, needs little maintenance and offers a rich healthy diet in abundance.
We spent a year mapping out this divine part of the world realizing that there is enormous potential for community food gardens that enhance the natural landscape and provide abundant nutrition and wellness for ALL.
Everything in my life has led me to this.I grew up on the Continental Divide in the high Rocky Mountains and have been building, maintaining and hiking back country trails since I was a kid. It is one of my greatest passions to open the forest trails to the people and encourage them to spend more time tuning into nature by being close to the earth in preparation for living on and with the land that is ours to steward.

The Aska Road drive along the Taccoa River is breathtaking. The natural beauty of the riverbank and surrounding forest calls out to be explored on foot but sadly there are too few scenic pullouts on this North Georgia mountain highway.

It’s an icy January day - unusually cold enough to freeze the waters of Tumbling Creek as she widens in preparation to flow north into Lake Okoee. Okoee 3 is the last stage of her long journey beginning in the south eastern fringe of the Cohutta Wilderness and National Forest.

This hidden opening deep in the forest offers a safe harbour for a few remaining majestic old trees. A rare find in an area that until as late as 1930 lost 70 per cent of its trees to logging.
