This is a very historic photo. Neither the T bar or Chair Lift are now in existence. The closest building was a cafe and was destroyed in the 1960s by a lahar. The 2nd chair shown here was the extesion of the first position which started at the shed on the right of the photo and was very prone to being snowed in. The Second Chairlift is now a demountable quad chair and starts about where there is a group of 4 or 5 people adjacent to the protective fence on the right of the photo. I hope the photographer has preserved this shot well.
Hi, the view of Evans Bay is absolutely stunning! Now i understand why my sister has moved to this area of New Zealand. It beats rainy liverpool any day!
