It is a beautiful swim from the Amerindian Lodge at Rockview (visible in the distance on this photo) to the Sand Island from which this photo is taken. I did it in 30 minutes. It seems quite safe.T he local anaconda lives a mile further upstream, the nearest person- eating cayman is in Venezuela and doesn't yet have a passport and piranha have always had a really bad press.
