as of 2010, the skate park has now been replaced by a popular playground and Atlantis Swimming pool in the distance has been replaced by some modern flats. There are a load more chalets too.
Oh what wonderful days of our youth spent in this area and of course the cave we cut out for ourselves one summer up in the "Beck" (Stream). Nearby was once an Island known as Monkey Island washed away over the years by the tides.
Once the envy of most of the UKs sea side resorts this once beautiful park was left to decay however thanks to some very good people it is now coming back to life.
The above was the entrance to an underground walkway it too one from one side of a busy road to the other.
Inside this walk way were the cleanest toilets in the UK and also lost luggage dept.
Sadly due to the new kind of criminal it became not only derelict but dangerous.
