Luca, the photo is not too clear, but the bumps on the skyline suggest they might be islands (eg Bass Rock) in the Firth of Forth viewed from the A1 near Haddington. Suggest you dig back into your memory to see if that area rings any bells. There are also a number of volcanic puys and seaside cliff-top castles in that otherwise flat area if those bumps are not islands.
