The Eagle Skylift (Sep, 2016) - testing before the scheduled opening at the end of 2016. The gondolas are covered in plastic, but the view towards Dromana, Safety Beach and Mt Martha is still fantastic.
North Esk (2016). This double storey Victorian limestone mansion was built between 1880 and 1882 for businessman and politician, James Service. In the background is The Continental Hotel.
Malmsbury Viaduct over the Coliban River (2016). When this was built in 1859-60 it was the largest masonary bridge built in Australia. The Malmsbury Reservoir is in the background on the left and the Malmsbury Railway Station is on the far right.
Malmsbury Station (2016). Only the platform on the left is still used by the public. The station residence is supposedly haunted by a ghost of a girl killed crossing the line although some of the circumstances surrounding the death have yet to be confirmed.
The Mansions (2016). Built to replace the Junction Hotel that burnt down in 1872, it closed in 1914 and later was used for accommodation under the name 'Residential Mansions'. It is now privately owned.
Marilyn Munroe in Rosalind Park (2016). This giant statue by sculptor Seward Johnson, made its first trip outside the United States to promote an exhibition of the iconic actress's memorabilia at the Bendigo Art Gallery, early in 2016.
The summit of Arthur's Seat (2016). Arthur's Restaurant is on the left, the new Skylift gondola ride is on the right and the Air Navigation Facility towers are in the background.
McCrae Homestead (2016). Built in 1844 and originally an area of 21,360 acres, the homestead is now in the middle of suburbia. Port Phillip and the McCrae Lighthouse are in the background.
The Eagle Station on the summit of Arthur's Seat (Sep, 2016). Testing is underway and although the gondolas are still wrapped in plastic, everything else is running smoothly.
Looking west towards Sorrento township (2016). On the left, with the terracotta roof, is Chatanooga which has links to Harold Holt - he purchased the property in 1960. The Continental and Sorrento Hotels can be seen in the distance.
Malmsbury Viaduct (2016). Built from local bluestone in 1859-60, this is 149 metres long, and has five arches, each of which has a span of 18 metres and which rise 22 metres above the Coliban River.
Malmsbury Hotel (2016). Probably the longest continuous running business in Malmsbury - a 1859 map shows a hotel on this site. The present hotel was built in the 1930s, with the second storey added in the 1980s.
End to End building (2016). Inspired by street culture, this five-storey commercial building is crowned by three Hitachi train carriages. The building structure relies on bridge technology to support each 27-ton carriage.
Forever Marilyn (2016). The sculpture took 32 days to get from the United States to Bendigo and arrived in four parts in two containers. Queen Victoria, in the background on the left, would not be amused.
Arthur's Seat Skylift (2016). This tower will carry the all-weather gondolas across Arthur's Seat Rd to the new station buildings and associated facilities. Port Phillip (Bay) is on the right.
McCrae Homestead (2016). Built in 1844 by lawyer Andrew McCrae and his artist wife Georgiana, the homestead was sold to the National Trust in 1970 by Georgiana's great-great-great grandson. Arthur's Seat is in the background.
Penola (2016). A 19th century garden estate established by the sister of William Guilfoyle, creator of the Melbourne Botanic Gardens.
Waterfall Creek Bushland Reserve (2016). Two hectares of this bushland was excised in 1926 for a cemetery but that was abandoned in 1951 when it was decided it was too small. In the 1980s the Rosebud Tennis Club was established. Rosebud Park Golf Course is on the left.
Malmsbury Station (2016) - built in 1862. The goods shed was added the following year. The freight sidings were removed and station buildings disused by the 1990s due to the lack of railway freight.
Malmsbury Botanic Gardens (2016) - set aside in 1857, development began on the gardens six years later. The gardens are one of the earliest to be established in regional Victoria. On the left hand side of this photo is the WW1 memorial gate.
Marilyn Munroe in Rosalind Park (2016). The 15 tonne sculpture, 'Forever Marilyn', is by American artist Seward Johnson and takes its inspiration from the 1955 film, 'The Seven Year Itch', in which Marilyn's character stands over the subway grates with her dress billowing up around her.

Arthur's Seat Skylift (2016). This $16 million construction includes upgrades to public spaces and it replaces the previous chairlift, originally built in 1960
Sorrento Foreshore (2016). In the foreground is the jetty in front of the Baths Restaurant, and in the background is the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry.
