Hello gteapot just wanted to know if you though your photo would not fit in with the theme of “KISSES”?... Have a look at our gallery before you answer that question; the group believes diversity is the spice of life and our group reflects this not by quantity but quality of pictures. Your picture is one of quality and diversity!...

"Alouette III helicopter

Workhorse and lifesaver – it was the Sud Aviation Alouette III that finally established the helicopter as an all-purpose means of transport even in mountainous Switzerland.

Description

This milestone in Swiss aviation history is largely due to its powerful turbojet engine that performs well even at high altitudes.

The Alouette III first appeared in 1959 and was derived from the less powerful Alouette II that first flew in 1955. Its largest Swiss customer was the air force with a fleet of 84 aircraft, followed by Rega Swiss Air Rescue and privately owned helicopter operators.

The aircraft displayed in the Swiss Museum of Transport dates from 1965. After tours of duty in Mexico, it went on to serve Rega from 1971 to 1979. During this time it flew almost 900 missions and more than 100 people owe their lives to this helicopter."
