If Bill Gates had proceeded with the purchase of the Atoll "open call" might have been common place at the Palmyra Yacht Club. He may of even done some sprucing up. Or if the atoll had been developed as planned a new bar might of been added with cruisers continuing to visit. The Atoll is now a nature sanctuary held by TNC and The Fish and Wildlife Service for safe keeping. Access is restricted but the Club still stands in all it's glory, the graphics on the walls depicting the by-gone days of the cruisers that visited the atoll.
