El Tabo is a beach community south of Valparaiso and west of Santiago. The population is near 2000 in the winter and over 20,000 on weekends in the summer (Jan. and Feb.) The town has a couple of hotels and several nice restaurants. The climate is cold in the winter and never very warm even in the summer. Water is very cold for swimming at the nearby beaches.
