The pontoons have recently been extended to provide many more moorings.

That's sad to hear. Looks like a pretty solid building, it would be great to see it restored as a house or hotel or something. Are the roofs all collapsed in? From the air it looks like the building is roughly C-shaped and goes back a good distance.

Your placemarker was a little off, btw. I shifted it a few hundred feet to the northwest.

I believe that Tulliallan quarries who were responsible for most of the open cast mining in this area were mainly extracting a lot of stone for blacktop. The main market for most of the stone that was quarried was for road building. Atthough there were silver mines between Mentsrie and Tillicoulty I don't think this is what we see in this picture.
