That's where you pull off to park at the top of the Gulch. I think it conveys everything to someone that has actually been there and especially during monsoon season since the photo shows the start of a funnel cloud that dropped about 8" of rain several minutes later. I'll leave the "postcard" shots everyone takes of namesake locations to those such as yourself.
Now, this one you must have walked to. For no road goes there, except closed roads. Tell me you did not go off road with a 4x4? Off roading does incredible damage in our fragile living environment, years to repair. Beautiful photograph. Both you and I know the road Google Earth shows no longer exists, the road is on the west side of the ridge and most of the time you can't even see California Gulch. Alex
