Thanks for posting this, I remember this old station well but there are very few photos around. Most of the area has now been filled in to the platform level. Shire Maps gives a good view of how it was and how it is now http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/General/Shire_maps
A mate and I tried to camp out at this spot (in the 60's) after having no luck after midnight picking up a (hitch-hike) ride towards Sydney, that is, until it started to rain!
This used to be an open balcony (since enclosed). I know because a mate and I in the 60's slept out a rain squall whilst hitch-hiking back to Sydney from Brisbane.
Yes, you're right, now that I look at the different buildings in GoogleEarth. It was a long time ago. I remember your name (and many of the others you mention) but I can't place the when or wheres. I worked in the clerical staff of the Way & Works Branch from about '64 till '75 (when I moved to Queensland). I worked on the relief staff from '67 to '69 and worked in every D.E's office except Bathurst and Petersham. In '69 I was called up for National Service and after my return worked in Head Office Staff Section, with Jack Haran, Ted Runchel, Jack McNamara, Jack Walker, "Skeeta" Knudsen, Brian Biggs, etc. etc. Prior to the relief work, I worked at D.E. Sydenham, Programme Engineer, and Chullora Workshops. You might also remember my younger brother David. He stayed for a lot longer than I did. In fact, he's back working for Railcorp after a break of some 10 years.

Alas, major fire damage sustained in June 2015. Such a shame. It was an extremely interesting outback museum.
stagnant looking water there.
Love guyra , I have watch this old house for over 25 years and would love to live there with my wife and 6 kids!
