A great place to bird, hunt, walk, camp or drive trails, the forest is all planted by hand. The USForest Service grows trees to repopulate those western forests where fire has taken its toll. This forest is a little-known jewel in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. The people in nearby Halsey are great!

Wow! I helped pick grapes, once, on the slopes leading to this very church! What a wonderful little village, Hunawihr!

A group of us slept a night in Schloss Frankenstein. It wasn't the Frankenstein castle, but it was a wonderful old ruin. A sweet elderly lady let us store our 10 speeds in her yard, and gave us the go ahead to sleep there. We didn't question her authority, and no authority stopped us! Who says Germans aren't wonderful?!
