I live in Adin, CA and just wnated to let you know that this is not in Alturas. It is outside of Adin on Hwy 139, on the way to Susanville.

I lived in this house from 1945 to 1957. There was a large barn and corrals there. We raised beef cattle and hay. The well was under the porch (on the other side of the portion added to the log part in this picture) and had a high sulpher content. It was a great place to grow up!

Apparently, The Ponderosa is no more...It's been sold and the name changed.....Ben has retired to Florida...Hoss has moved to town & opened a brothel while Little Joe has run off with a band of Gypsies.....or so I've been told.............
