This is the old Stone Ranch.
That looks like common teasel, a noxious weed, rather than cat tails.
Goldie and her husband, who were caretakers at the ranch, were some of my sister Sylvia's dearest friends. I wish I had the oppertunity to meet Mr. Bigalow, and see some of the supernatural activities that I was informed about taking place here. Alas, My sister passed on before any of that could take place.
Hmmm, abandoned as in the inhabitants were forcibly removed.
I live in Adin, and this is taken accross from the Forest Service Station. It is their barracks for families.
I live in Adin, CA and just wnated to let you know that this is not in Alturas. It is outside of Adin on Hwy 139, on the way to Susanville.
I lived in this house from 1945 to 1957. There was a large barn and corrals there. We raised beef cattle and hay. The well was under the porch (on the other side of the portion added to the log part in this picture) and had a high sulpher content. It was a great place to grow up!
L1 Very nice car.
