I'm no sure I fully understand but this temple is dedicated for people suffering from atomic burns.

Indeed we saw some old grannies with bandaged hands and scars paying some devotion.

Its quite an heavy atmospherearound there... Make you think about all the atomic "colateral casuality" still remaining and suffering today

Hanami : litterally "Viewing the Flowers", is an important moment in Japanese people social life. Friends, families or co worker come to the nearby parks to pic nic.

The exquisite rice straw robe, carefully ajusted to this cherry tree is there to protect the tronk from cold and snow during winter. You can also check the wood stucture to maintain the branches for the same reason.

Sendai Botanical garden is more a preservated part of a primary forest rather than a plant and srub collection. Netherless is quite interesting with hills climbing, big tree observing and this swamp area with many dragonfly !!

Even so, one can see that it branchs are all twisted and wipy ( eucalyptus is usually a tall straigh tree).

Some people attach fortune telling paper or wishes to its branch, Usually for cure of simply health and longevity.

If you achieve to fold 1 000 paper cranes, then the gods shall grant you your wish.

Believing so, a young girl victim of the H bomb begin to fold those for her recovery. She died sadly before achieving so.

Her classmates then, in memory of her,finished her work and placed hundreds of 1000 paper cranes strings, in symbol of peace.

Today, school pupils still come from all over Japan to offer thoses paper cranes...
