Community photo taken at the opening of the school. Much if not all labor was by the community. The full size photo is inside the building, recently converted to a wonderful arts community. The photo itself is about a dozen feet long with fantastic detail of faces and dress.

As noted above, in NC (NOT SC). Also, this is the Pisgah National Forest at Looking Glass Falls; Mount Pisgah is about 10 miles up the road.

This site is no more than 1 mile from downtown Columbia, SC and right at the Riverbanks Zoo. This was a golden morning in September, 2006. I was shooting downstream, turned and saw this scene. The Heron held fast for 10 minutes before flying off.

Erosion results in fallen trees littering the beach, creating dramatic scenes for the photographer.

Hunting Island is a barrier island, east of Beaufort, South Carolina. It is eroding. There is a lighthouse 100 yards or so from this site. It has been moved once. Numerous trees are undermined and fall into the ocean, nearly daily. I'm told by a long time native that this site was about 1/2 mile from the beach 30 years ago.
