Hallo! Thank You for Your comment! Yes, I hired a boat there in Feb. 2010. It is an beautiful aerea for sailing, sometimes you are sailing for hours without seeing another boat, there are very, very few sailboats around Placencia. But two problems: (1) It is not easy, we had a local captain, because the underwater-riffs are hard to see. (2) Only in Placencia You can buy something to eat or to drink. There is no other harbour, no restaurant or anything on the islands, no drinking water (!) (3) The boat, that we hired (a monohull) was not old, but in bad condition (technically). It is "Moorings", but not the same standards like in Europe ...
