You're right, Jean. The transmission ceremony took place in the Cabildo on Decembre, 20, 1803. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the US territory and opened the way to the Pacific with the Lewis and Clark expedition. It is probably the most important event in the entire US history after the Declaration of Independance.
