My name is Margot Ardourel and I come from Colorado Springs, CO. In March of 2009, I became interested in photography when I was introduced to Panoramio. It has been great fun and I have learned a lot about photography and about the world in general. My camera is a Fuji Finepix 1500S with a 12X zoom. It is simple but for the moment it is all I can handle. I have learned a different way to look at my world from Panoramians and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Margot is this the creek bed you are trying to photograph? If so, you showed its depth pretty well here...especially with the doggies at the corner for size comparison! Such beautiful colors!

Thanks JF! Mine was about like yours today but most days are pretty even if it is cold. We are a harsher than usual December which makes me hope that the cold just showed up early. We shall see.

There also a flock of Canada Geese there. I don't know if because it is colder than usual they weren't prepared to move on or what. The lake is solid and all of them were gathered in the parking lot. I haven't been back to see if they are still there.

Thank you JF! That does help. I am thinking I should walk to an area that is narrow and shoot straight ahead instead of from the top. There is no creek just the bed. In places it is very wide and then it narrows. There are many tributaries also. It is hard to show.

I just now read this!!
How could we have missed it??? I had just about quelled the desire to hear Billy serenade us, and now you've gone and rekindled it, Amelia -- is this the right time to use that word?
Tomorrow night I will imagine "Auld Lang Syne" in Billy's splendid tenor.
Happy New Year to all of you, keep the white coats handy.

Wow nice! The open water in the pond mirrors the shape of the color in the sky, kind of.
