The spelling of this Gorge is incorrect. Its correct name is Galvans Gorge named after Joe Galvans who was Main Roads' Divisional Engineer Derby in the mid to llate 1960s.

In 1988, I went scuba diving in this pool. It was quite a walk in from the main car park but a great dive. Very pretty spot.
