sorry for the very very late reply. I booked a cave dive trip form Koh Tao and they arranged for accomodation. But it is easy to get accomodation even if you just go to Khao Sok National Park and ask the boat rental service to drop u at bamboo floating huts (that the last huts the first one is not as good). They are mostly available since very few turists go that far but it is an awsome place to spend a couple of days.

When I see this picture, I´m sure, that many things have changed on Koh Phangan. The first time I visited this beautyful Island in the Gulf of Thailand was in 1991, the second time in the last year. This pier looks comletly differently now.
My travel buddy Brian did some lure fishing in those kayaks and caught a two pounder... I have no idea what kind of fish it was (not a snakehead), but the hosts cleaned it, and fried it up whole with a garlic-heavy batter. AWESOME.
It's a complete toss-up... is THIS my happy place I go to when I daydream, or is it Xcalak? I can't decide.
