Do you know if Bald Hill is naturally bald, or if it was logged, or perhaps burned in a forest fire?
I can't tell from your photo or from the satellite photo, but I suspect it may have been a forest fire.

Again, the air was hazy in summer of 2007 as there were many forest fires in Idaho and western Montana.
