Greetings dear Maxwell!I am very joyfull to hear from You!Russia is the biggest country of the world in any ways and in many aspects!It is very hard to fathom it!:)About driving ,so if You want to get from Moscow to Vladivostok by train it takes You one week journey..,from Saint Petersburg to Volgograd it requires 35 hours...I got to see many Hardy's things also I managed to look Michael Henchard's home at Casterbridge... EvieDun, Thanks for your kind comments. Gordon House has a long and some may say strange history when Lord Kilmorey lived there. (see Wiki). It's part of Brunel University and the gardens are part of an up market private gated housing complex. The dock area is completely redeveloped. Max

I only spotted The water gardens on Google this year and they are well looked after. Not many visitors that day, and no one in field of view at that moment.
