It's a Sikorsky S-64 Sky Crane. Designed for the US Army, and after being phased out by the military several found their way to civilian operators as described above. Also in use as air tankers, to drop water on bush fires.
Old ones were overhauled by Erickson Air Crane, and that company also built brand new ones.

There is a nice old film on Youtube, made when the Fokker F28 Fellowship was tested at Bacchus Marsh for 'rough runways' suitability. Search for 'Focus on F28'.
