What is to say I've been tramping the Thames and other parts to take photo's of the remaining pillboxes left from the Second World War apart from the Nant-Y-Gro Dam which was used as for a test in the Dambusters raid.

So beschmiert, wie auf diesem Foto, sieht das jetzt nicht mehr aus. Es wurde gesäubert und hat einen neuen Anstrich bekommen. Hoffentlich bleibt es so!

There are only a few in that area and they cover the Bridge nearby. The strategic area was from Applford Common down to Abingdon and the Sulham Valley.

PS. A Black Watch Regiment and later an American regiment were based at Gaddesby (Paske) Hall.

Sorry but I don't have a clue I suspect it was something to do with either flooding or emptying the Anti-tank ditch thar ran round here. That pillbox most likly covered a footpath. Check the map I have made you might be able to make more sense of it from that. I suspect it was a type 28 twin but as to how it was distroyed I could not say but most of them in the area show signs of being used for target practice.
