Ken & Janie Rowell's conversations

Ken & Janie Rowell said:

Yeah.........the 'Parker's' bought it off Albert Shepherd. I spent many a hour helping out on that farm myself. My Mother owned the 'Snack Bar' and bought her potatoes for the evening's 'fish & chips'sessions from Albert. Oh happy days!!!

Best I can do: Cemetery chapel, right of matching set of 3, late 1870s. Rock-faced sandstone, slate roof with bands of green slates, red ridging tiles, gabled dormer window on south side, ridge chimney. T-plan: small nave with north transept; in High Victorian Gothic style. West gable has 7 lancets, band, and plate-traceried rose above. Interior: not inspected, but probably has arch-braced kingpost roof with curved struts (as in other 2 chapels).

Your photos of Wycollar are terrific. It is our ancestrial home, Cunliffe-Owen, which I was able to visit in 2010. Caretakers Roger and Maureen Cunliffe, my cousins it turns out, gave me a terrific tour of the area. Made me feel as though I had come home again.
