Good picture of Longwood House but it is definitely NOT in the position you have shown it. The building next to your photo mark is a farmhouse on the plain well clear of the Longwood district. Longwood House's correct position is: 15 Degrees 56 min. 59.4 Sec S; 5 degrees 40 min. 57.67 sec W.
It is surrounded by extensive gardens as seen on your photo and is in the centre of the houses. I spent 3 weeks living near the House in April/May 2009 and checked its position by GPS. It is clearly seen on the google view with roads skirting round it to the North and South.
I climbed that ladder many a time as a child!! Very fond memories of my time on the island - I can even see the house at the bottom of the ladder where we used to live!!!

Suggestion for all the pictures. Place the pointer on the map on the spot where the photographer was when he took the picture and add to the photo details the direction in which the camera was aiming (North, north-east ect.).
Suggestie bij alle plaatjes. Plaats de punaise op de kaart op de plek waar de fotograaf stond toen de foto werd genomen en voeg aan "Photo details" toe in welke richting het toestel gericht was (noord, noord-oost enz.).
