In SPACEBASE Summer camp 2009 the rising 5th grade students will: •Research fun things to do in Olde Towne Portsmouth •Explore Olde Towne Portsmouth using HRT (Tues/Wed) •Use digital cameras and GPS units to geo-reference locations. •Post pictures on www.panaramio.com •Each team will construct a 1 page flyer that will be available for download using Microsoft Publisher.

The Renaissance Hotel has 17 floors but does not include the 13th floor. They don't have a 13th floor because it is an unlucky number. It is a very nice hotel to visit.

The Courthouse Gallery is a wonderful shop with with AMAZING art that is so beautiful. You will fall in love with the art instantly.

This is Colonel Crawford. He is the founder of Portsmouth VA. The city was established in 1752. His name was originaly spelled Craford and later changed to Crawford.

The Peter House is a three-story building designed by Pierre L'Enfant. The Peter House has beautiful granite steps leading to the doorway.

At the Military History Museum they are closed for repairs but you can see guns and military trucks outside.

The Hillhouse was bulit by Colonel John Thompson in the early 1800's.

The New York Deli has a lot of customers who come for the good food. The New York Deli is a sucessful restaurant. They also have a liquor license and they sell beer to adults.

This is a nice store. It looks small but it is huge! They sell things to make your garden look beautiful! They have a very nice garden also.

The Queen Bee's Antiques is a very nice store, owned by Sharon Black. The antique store sells old and new items. They sell silverware, jewelry, dining plates and much more!!!
