This is absolutely not a wolf. It's clearly a coyote likely fluffed out 'cause it's cold. As above, there have been no DFW reintroductions and I've heard of no 'renegade' introductions. A wolf was sighted and shot in the 50s near Fresno -- it turned out to be a Korean wolf bround back by a military person. Another side note: there are no Elk in the Sierra. Just the heard north of Independence. They don't come up into the Sierra. Two misidentifications in one sighting. Not bad... .
